Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you go.

Planning

When is the best time to go on safari in Kenya?

Kenya is a year-round destination. The dry seasons (roughly January–February and June–October) offer the easiest wildlife viewing, and the Great Migration is usually in the Masai Mara between July and October. The "green" seasons (November–December and March–May) bring fewer visitors, lush scenery and wonderful birdlife.

How far in advance should I book?

For July–October and the Christmas/New Year period we recommend booking as early as you can, since the best camps and lodges fill up. Last-minute trips are often possible — ask us.

Can you tailor a safari for me?

Yes. The packages on this site are starting points; every trip can be adjusted — more days, different parks, a beach extension, special occasions. Tell us what you'd like through the quote form.

On safari

What is included in your safaris?

Our packages include park or conservancy entrance fees, an English-speaking professional driver-guide, full-board accommodation, game drives in a safari vehicle and bottled drinking water on game drives. Tips, extra drinks, personal items, flights, visas/eTA and insurance are not included.

What vehicles do you use?

We use pop-up-roof safari minivans and 4x4 safari jeeps, with a maximum of eight guests per vehicle so everyone has a window seat for game viewing and photography.

What kind of accommodation can I choose?

We work with luxury, standard and mid-level lodges and tented camps. Share your preferred comfort level and your consultant will recommend suitable places for your dates.

Do I need to tip?

Tipping is customary and appreciated by guides, camp and lodge staff, though never compulsory. Your consultant can advise on typical gratuities before you travel.

Before you travel

Do I need a visa or travel authorisation for Kenya?

Most visitors need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before arriving in Kenya. Requirements change, so please check the official Kenya eTA website for your nationality before you travel — we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Which vaccinations or health precautions do I need?

Requirements depend on your nationality and where you travel from, and malaria precautions are recommended for most safari areas. Please speak to your doctor or a travel clinic well before departure, and make sure you have comprehensive travel and medical insurance.

What should I pack?

Neutral-coloured, light layers; a warm jacket for early mornings; a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses; comfortable closed shoes; binoculars; a camera with spare batteries; and any personal medication. Soft-sided luggage is easiest to fit in a safari vehicle. We'll send a full packing list after booking.

Payments

How do I pay?

After you accept your personal itinerary and quote, we send a secure payment link. You can pay online by card, mobile money or bank through Pesapal. Payment and cancellation terms are confirmed in writing in your booking confirmation.

Do you offer private departures?

Yes — all our safaris operate as private departures for your party, with your own vehicle and guide.
